you can have a great first week weight loss, but second week no matter how good you have been you just dont lose, the program last night night suggested it happens a lot in the second week, so just wondering if others found this in their weight loss or if it was just rubbish.0

Horsecrap. A plateau is weeks and weeks without a loss.
However, often people have a huge loss their first week, mostly water, and then the second week they lose less, leading them to freak out because 'it isn't working'.0 -

Usually an actual plateau does not hit for several months...maybe several weeks but certainly NOT just the 2nd week. Each week no matter what you do the weight will fluctuate. You will not lose the same amount each week - if you do not lose one or 2 weeks it does not mean you have hit a plateau.
Just an FYI - if you are concentrating on that scale number...you may get discouraged over time. Measure yourself (arms, waist, thighs etc) in addition to weighing in. Also if you can keep track of your body fat %...sometimes neither my scale or the tape move but my body fat will. Any of those 3 numbers go down is an instant confidence boost for me.0 -
2 weeks does not a plateau make.
My guess is that most people see a lot of water weight lost the first week, then things slow down the second week as the body adapts and real progress starts.0
