I know how bad soda is for you, but I've always put off quitting b/c even though I only drink one a day, I get migraines when I don't have my morning caffeine. However, I'm challenging myself to go the month of May without soda. So I'm curious what everyone drinks all day long? And if you have any suggestions on how you got through caffeine withdrawals, I'd love to know that too.

I drink an unsweetened (took a long time to adapt to this) tea in the morning and then WATER. Hope this helps.0

Water, and if you don't want the withdrawals, they make caffeine pills (woo)0
-
Lots of black unsweetened tea, I am trying to drink more plain water though.

Are you trying to give up caffeine? or just soda? If it's just the soda, I'd say go drink one cup of tea or coffee in the morning. If you're trying to give up caffeine, water! And you probably will have a headache and be exhausted for the first couple days. I speak from experience0

i drink water almost exclusively ... i put all kinds of different fruits (berries, lemons, oranges, limes, etc) in the water to give it a natural, subtle flavor
if you aren't ready to get off the sodas just yet, i would think that drinking a natural soda would be better than drinking a Coke or Diet Pepsi -- that way you're still getting the flavor and caffeine without the added crap.
as far as needing a caffeine fix, try drinking black tea or coffee because they are much better for you than soda is.
good luck0 -
Black coffee with stevia
Water
32 oz bottle of seltzer water with english toffee flavored stevia (tastes like cream soda!)0 -
Water for thirst, coffee in the morning, herbal tea for warmth and relaxation in the evening, and the occasional glass of wine with dinner.0
-
tons of water with a tad of sea salt...wine beer some coffee..occasional soda but never diet:)0

Usually two cups of black coffee a day, also one or two cups of tea (black, green, herbal, whatever I feel like), also iced green tea with mint, occasionally Mio (for some reason, I like it when I have popcorn), water with most meals, wine or beer with dinner a few times a week, a diet soda a few times a month. Gatorade after a long or hot run. Oh, and very occasionally a cup of milk, usually to up calories before bed if I need some but don't feel like eating.
The only thing I add sweetener to is hot tea, which gets 1 sugar cube or half a teaspoon of honey as necessary (some teas are fine unsweetened).0 -

Working on giving up soda for sure. My problem with coffee is that I like the cold, blended fattening ones, however save it as a treat if I'm stuck working on the weekends. But I probably need to find something to replace those as well.0 -
water, green tea, lemon water.0

1 Cup coffee in the AM
WATER ALL DAY LONG!! Bottle after bottle0 -
I drink lots of water and in the morning I sometimes have one cup of coffee with 2 measured servings of creamer.
I quit soda cold turkey this year. I actually blogged about my experience here: http://www.ff2fb.blogspot.com/2013/02/kickin-my-addiction.html
It was really hard for me. At one time, I was driking one liter of Mountain Dew a day!! I was very much addicted to it.
When I first switched to water, I used Crystal Light, which now makes me sick. Then I went to having to have lemon in it every time, and now I can and enjoy drinking it plain! Another way I love to drink my water is with cucumber slices in it...that is so refreshing.
I will tell you, once you kick the soda habit and get past the "withdrawals" from all the sugar and such, you will feel sooooo much better! Truth be told, I no longer can stand the taste of soda, and if I want something other than water, I love coconut water like Coco Rico!0
