Feeling discouraged :-(

I'm feeling really discouraged :-(. I've been dieting and exercising for the last 2 days and I decided to weigh myself this morning after breakfast and I haven't lost anything :-(. I've actually gained 1lb. I know it takes time to lose some weight but I really thought I would have lost at least a little bit by now. What's going on?

It's only been 2 days! Give yourself more time than that. This is a lifestyle change, so make sure that what you're doing is sustainable for the long run. It's a journey-not a race.
Also weigh yourself in the morning, naked, no water or food, after your morning bathroom trip.0 -
Give it a little more time! Keep up the positive changes...it will pay off:)Inch by inch the snail made it on the ark!!!you can do this:)0

Dude. 2 days. Come on.
This takes time, if you are going to get discouraged after two days, you need to reconsider your expectations. You didn't gain weight over night, you aren't going to magically wake up skinny. Stay away from the scales, and give yourself time.0 -

This. 2 days is absolutely nothing. Many of us saw no change for 2 weeks or even a month. The body isn't a switch, it doesn't flip like that.
One burger didn't make you fat. One meal won't turn you into a supermodel.0 -
Hang in there! Don't feel discouraged! Everyone's body handles dieting differently. In the past when ever I tried a new diet I started weighing myself everyday, because I was always so eager to see if it was working. However, no matter how healthy you eat or how much you work out, your body tends to fluctuate a pound or two. I became very discouraged also, because I felt like my hard work was not paying off.
This time around though I have learned that patience is key. I only weigh myself once a week and so far I've been seeing results every time! I also keep in mind that it is very common to plateau after awhile, so If one week I don't see much change I know that it is normal. Not watching my weight fluctuate everyday has really helped me from becoming discouraged. Also If you do come across a plateau, just change up your diet by adding a few extra calories or change up your work out routine!
Another tip is to make sure that you weigh yourself around the same time as your last weigh in. For example I weigh myself in the morning every weigh in day before I eat.
Don't lose hope! You can do it0 -

Don't weigh yourself after you eat....
Weigh in the morning when you wake up, after you take a piss and *kitten* and before you eat or drink anything.0 -
Thanks for the replies!. You are all right, I didn't even think of those points of views. My boyfriend at one time was helping me out (essentially being my personal trainer) and I lost 7lbs in a week so I guess I was expecting the same thing now that I'm doing it on my own. Although he cut my calories down pretty low so that might be a factor because I'm not cutting my calories as low as he did.
"because I was always so eager to see if it was working"
Another reason I did it!. I know that you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday, but I was so eager to see if my weight dropped and when it didn't, I got upset
But I will def train myself not to weigh myself after just a couple days and to know that this process does take time and 2 days is not nearly enough to see changes. Thanks again everybody!0
