I keep gaining...

I keep gaining all these awesome things; instead of talking about what we're losing, how about talking about what we've gained.
Awesome things I've gained:
I can now do REAL push-ups. Only about 5, but that is 5 more than I could do a month ago.
Pain-free days. I have rheumatoid arthritis and a couple of years ago it was hard to walk a mile some days. Today I can walk a 10k, no problem.
Awesome friends. Yeah, you guys, the ones I talk to daily on here. Thanks!
Being considered athletic. Whoa, that hasn't happened since high school, but yesterday a coworker commented on how "buff" I look.
And last, but not least: Confidence. I like what I see when I look in the mirror now, and yeah, I notice you looking too!
So fess up everyone. What have you GAINED this year? :drinker:

Absolutely! My looks haven't really changed all that much; it is just perception I have of myself now.0 -
Confidence and contentedness. I know I still have room for improvement, but my overall enjoyment of life has increased.0

Ive gaine accountability for what I eat. I think about everything I put in my mouth (good or bad) and its nutritional value! You are sooooo successful and thanks so much for being so supportive!0

I'm kind of on maintenance, so this year I haven't made any much progress. In previous years, I went from barely able to *hang* on the pull up bar to a set of real pull-ups, that's been my biggest accomplishment so far!
Oh, I've gained a cool friend or three :blushing:0 -

I've gained accountability through MFP >> My diary is public, so if I'm cheating one day, the whole world is gonna know it! I'm also not afraid of strength training or the gym anymore. Hooray!0

I've gained discipline, accountability, and self control. Loving not giving in to every craving I have. It feels good to actually work for that ice cream on Saturday though I'm thinking about it M-F.0

Control over my hate handles. . . I mean love handles.
The ability to work out for 45 minutes at an aerobic pace and still talk, rather than wheeze, while I do it.0
