It's hard to retrain your brain

I started off doing 30 minutes of cardio, "lifting" using machines, and doing 250+ crunches on the crunch machine thing-a-majig. I lost 20 pounds in 3 months so obviously it worked, but I found myself getting SO very bored during my workouts.
Also, I was only eating 1200 calories a day. I posted another thread a few days ago about the side effects of not eating enough not always being so severe but still enough to make you wake up. I was irritable, sleepy, and had no desire to do the do, and even though I wasn't hungry or losing hair it was still a sign that I needed to make a change.
After lots of research about lifting and increasing calories, I did both this week. I started Stronglifts 5x5, increased my calories to 1680, and made my time a lot more effective in the gym. 10 minutes of cardio and the rest of the time spent lifting. For the first time in WEEKS, I feel sore the day after a workout. I feel like I actually did something even though I spent considerably less time in the gym.
I hope this post reaches someone. I see a lot of questions from women only eating 1200 calories (or even less) and Zumba-ing their lives away, not seeing results and slowly hurting themselves in the process.
It still feels weird, all these changes I've made. But I know they're for the better and I know I'll see results!
Happy Friday everyone

Way to go girl!!! The whole calorie thing is no fun figuring it out!!!! I do cardio about 6 times a week with Brazil Butt Lift and then I do 2-3 days of lifting with ChaLEAN Extreme!! At first I was super worried I wouldn't lose much weight, which I haven't. (I was lifting 3 times a week with 2 days cardio) but I am much leaner and have definition and I am definitely toner!!! I try not to focus too much on the scale, but as we all know that's the easier and most common way to measure weight loss!! Keep me posted on your progress and what not!! Girl you are rockin it!0
