Tracking Distance

I have been off the exercise wagon for a long while now... :-(

A friend has asked me to do a 10K run with her... NEVER done that before and only ever walked a 5K! Although I used to do 5K on the treadmill at the gym often. I know, this is very different.

Now I'd like to try for the 10K (15th July) and know that I need to do some real road stuff. I'm hugely target driven so would like an app that I can use to track distance. (I have a HRM - Polar 7).

For a decent 'distance tracker' do you need to pay for it or is there a free one I could use? I have a Samsung phone so no iPone apps please.

I like run keeper. I use that one and like how it tracks elevation as well as distance.

Like the idea of run keeper but they don't make it easy to download!

I can't get past this message:

You haven't accessed the Google Play Store app (the white shopping bag app icon) on your device with this email account. Learn more.

    Can anybody help?

I've clicked on what I think is the white bag MANY times and keep going round and round in circles. I hate being old!
