How do you eat when you don't want to

I know this may be a silly question and I know the obvious answer is to eat but I just can't, I have no desire to eat more than what I am now. Previous to starting actively trying to change my lifestyle and get in shape I would eat once a day due to my work schedule and sometimes a snack after I finished a 12 hour shift. Even before this I got into the habit of not eating junk food per say but pretty much very little. I'm trying to get better and I have more good days than bad but I still have bad days. I've gotten better in that I eat multiple times a day but when I was looking at my total food diary since May 2nd (a little after this is when I started actively making choices to better my life) and I have counted 11 days where I've been under 1000 calories for the day. Friends, what would you suggest? I could use more carbs/protein/potassium so I have some wiggle room but is there foods that are higher in calories that are still healthy so I can make up for when I am too low but at the same time isn't really heavy..if that makes sense. Has anyone else had this type of problem? Thank you in advance, I don't want to end up sabotaging myself so I really appreciate any help.

    Almonds, Peanut Butter (I love me some pb)

    I can't see your diary, but if you're eating lots of low fat foods, try swapping them for the full fat alternative.

    Thanks, I do have almonds and I agree mmm peanut butter. Usually I do really choose the low fat alternatives in foods unless it's something like 'cook this olive oil instead of butter' type of thing. Usually I have a breakfast sandwich (the turkey sausage ones or the MorningStar ones), salmon (only wild), chicken, veggies and fruit, I'm trying to eat yogurt, dry cereal (not the sugary ones), and when I have a hard work out I will eat a Luna Bar (which are amazing if you haven't tried them) or a protein bar.

    coconut cream in tea or oats ? coconut cream in coffee .... coconut cream in vanilla protein shake...
    shredded coconut in cereal? shredded coconut in yoghurt .... shredded coconut in brown rice...

    Plan your day in advance, including snacks and beverages. If you're still under calories or macros make changes - switch to full fat dairy, add nuts, increase portion sizes. You need to feed the body you have, even at a deficit.

    For many overweight people, the hunger trigger has been suppressed. You may need to eat on a schedule to regain it.

    I'm assuming that when you wrote "May 2" you really mean March 2. You've lost quite a bit and quickly. Don't be upset if you gain a bit after you adjust your eating patterns. In a few weeks you'll lose the weight again and be healthier for it.

    TimeForMe99 (post above) makes some excellent points. Also, I know the more I exercise, the lower my appetite. So I try to get in calories & stay balanced, but if I just can't eat much & have calories to use up, I'll just look for ANYTHING I'd feel like eating. Also, milk is good, smoothies, protein shakes, protein bars like you mentioned, cheese, nuts, etc. Getting enough calories should be your first goal, having the choices be healthy 2nd, & having the diet be balanced 3rd...IMO.

    The only reason I won't want to eat is if I'm full already or if there's nothing in the kitchen that teases my appetite. If I still have a bunch of calories to fill I might just eat some candy or something.

    Thank you for the responses =) I did mean March from my original post, my brain is rattled as I have finals in the coming weeks. What's coconut cream, I don't think I've ever heard of it? I started March 6th at 264...which is hard to even write..and as of Thursday I am down to 249. My main focus was to not eat once a day anymore. I am nine times out of ten awesome at eating more than once and I pay attention to what it is I buy and put into my body. When I work out I force myself a bit to eat soon after because I average more that 700 calories burned.

    I've lost significant inches and according to the doctor and what I can physically see in my legs and feel in my abs I am gaining muscle which is another reason why I don't want to continue having lower days as muscle is naturally burning additional calories throughout the day.
