Are you eating anything else? I often put 1/2 c berries in with them and also have a cup of skim milk to round out my breakfast. Just a small portion of oatmeal is not enough for breakfast . . . you need to get another few food groups into that meal.

    Eat
    breakfast like a king
    lunch like a prince
dinner like a pauper . . . with snacks throughout of course!

Are you having them with milk or water? That might be making a difference to how full you feel. Also are you having enough, with breakfast the recommended serving sizes I find far too small and I usually have double, if it's a healthy food like porridge then it shouldn't make much of a difference, and far better than snacking later when you're hungry.

i add a tablespoon of flaxmeal (healthy fats)
and .5 cup of milk (to add protein) and the rest water
and usually a fruit. im having a whole chopped banana in it at the moment.
and some ground cinnamon, tad bit of vanilla extract.

my whole breakfast comes out to be 303 calories.
it makes a huge bowl of satisfaction!
    try mixing things up

instant packets usually have sugars and things that just wont fill u up!

I'm not really sure, but I guess every body is different. Are you eating instant or whole oats? I believe instant is not as healthy for you, the oats are precooked and could have added refined sugars that could trigger hunger.

The only hot cereal that keeps me full for a while is oat bran. I make it with water and then add half a Greek yogurt and splenda brown sugar and cinnamon. It comes to almost 300 calories I think. To be honest, I find Greek yogurt and some bran crumbs very satisfying right now and for about half the calories.

I am trying....but I just made Quaker Oats/1 min kind, cooked on stove with milk and by the time I put enough
brown sugar on it to be able to stand it I had it too sweet to eat! It was not soft enough like it wasn't
done even though I cooked it more than 1 minute. Help. I have got to get off the bacon and eggs!!!

That is probably the problem, when people talk about oatmeal being healthy they are not referring to the instant packs that are full of sugar and what not. Each packet has 7 g's sugar and based on your diary you are eating 2 packets and adding additional sugar. Try buying a bag of quick oats, they take longer than instant but are almost as nutritious as large flake steal cut oats, and add your own flavoring. Good luck.

You may also want to start tracking your sugar intake as you are probably over the allowance just from your breakfast.

The instant packets have never satisfied me. I don't quite understand the allure because, honestly, oatmeal just doesn't take that long to make. I buy thick rolled oats (not steel cut, just thick cut rolled oats). I put 1/2 cup in a bowl with either water or soy milk and pop in in the microwave for about 1 minute or 1 minute and 30 seconds or so. You have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't spill over, but 1 minute is how long it would take to heat up the water for instant oatmeal anyway!

I think part of the marketing of those packets is that the companies try to convince us that oatmeal must take a long time to make. It really doesn't.

Hmmm... let me ask Goldilocks in Accounting what she thinks. If she's not sure, then the 3 bears next door will certainly know!

I generally mix the quick oats with muesli and corn flakes. I read somewhere that it is supposedly good to be mixing different kinds. There is little sugar in muesli, so that suffices for me. In a bowl, I put the oats at the bottom, then the rest two. Pour in hot milk, by the time I finish the other two and get to oats, its cooked.

Maybe while cooking oats you can add some almonds or other nuts?
