strict liquid diet

Before i go on to tell you more im under the care of a mayo clinic physician who has put me on a 48 hour strict liquid only diet because i cand stop going (#2) tmi sorry. my concern/question is whatever i lose this week will i gain it all the weight back? after the "diet" (ugh hate that word) im suppose to gradually introduce regular food back into me. my doctor literally rushed out the room so sorry bout all the weird questions. iam 177 pounds female and terrified of losing weight really fast then gaining it back + more. do you think that could happen?

I would be more concerned about my health than gaining weight back. When I have a stomach virus I have been known to drop up to 7lbs in a few days, of course this is a result of being sick and not eating or drinking enough so it's water most likely. Get well soon! Worry about weight when you're healthy!

You'll be fine for 48 hours. And yes, you will gain it back because it won't be "fat" weight. You can't create a 7000 calorie deficit in two days, so just know that going into it.

Since you are being put on a 48 hours liquid diet for health reasons, I don't think your concern should be whether you'll gain the weight you lost from it afterward. It is quite possible you will gain it back, but if you do, it's not a big deal. Just get back to your regular routine when you're healthy. I think you're over thinking this..

You have more serious things to think about that weight loss right now.

Maybe take a little time away from the scale, just till your health issue is sorting so you can trust the number on the scale more :)

I agree with ^^ sometimes life is bigger than if our *kitten* looks fat. Good luck x
