At relativily consistent speeds you'll burn the same walking or running a mile. I log it as 30 minutes at 4MPH. My route is 2 miles and it takes approx. 30 minutes to complete it. I'm on Week 4 and it's been the same completion time right along.

If you're like most people you're not jogging very fast to start so you won't find a "running" cardio entry that matches your speed. And you really don't want to focus on speed. Best that you don't even know what it is.
  • Yeah I was going to put it down as 30 mins walking as my running is very slow :) didn't know what speed to do

Buy a heart rate monitor. It helps a lot! You'll know exactly how many calories you burned.

I have a Fitbit One and just let it work out my extra calories - it's not a lot, but my "jogging" is like a brisk walking speed! I'm also on week 1 and think I'll repeat it til I can do the one minute jogs a bit more easily. I did make an interesting discovery - jogging for 1 minute UPHILL seems much longer than the same time going downhill - they just FLY by! Who'd have thunk it?
