I was feeling so great this morning, I'd lose 0.8kg from last week. Came to work & there was cake & chocolates put out & even though I kept saying to myself, don't eat them, remember you've lost 0.8kg & feeling great...... I couldn't resist - I ended up eating 4 chocolates, not 1 BUT 4. Why do I do this to myself...... Now, I'm sitting here feeling so disappointed with myself.

i can't tell you how many times that has happened to me. but what you can do is to
1) move on.
what you did isn't erasable. sure, you feel guilty. but you're a work in progress. self-control takes three months to perfect.
2) cleanse your body with tons of water.
drink water, cleanse it out.
3) eat veggies!
make better choices through the day after this. you can eat the chocolates but as long as you don't allow yourself down a slippery slope for the rest of the day, you'll be fine (: it'll just be a little indent in the day. if you let yourself indulge because you think you have no chance of getting better, then you'll make an indent in the week.
4) learn from this!
don't feel too guilty - food should be pleasure, not punishment. so enjoy those chocolates, but now - get back on track and learn about portion control and moderation.0 -
Yeah. I agree with Kaylindechan. You just have to move forward. Beating yourself up over something like that isn't helpful. Lately I have been listening to audiobooks when I am on the treadmill and the last one I listened to was called "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg. It was actually very helpful to me with regards to the type of situation you are referring to. He explains how we develop habits and how to break them. Once you identify your habit you examine what triggered it and then once you have identified your triggers you are empowered to have a more conscious approach to responding to them. Anyway, it is a great book if you're interested. Most importantly, it is one little instance and it in no way reflects all your effort or success. Best regards.0

We are so addicted to sweets that it's easy to let go and eat stuff like that. So what!? As long as you understand that it's not a constant thing, let yourself enjoy it now and then. Learn what triggered it, have some good alternatives handy the next time you're in that situation and simply move on. There's no reason to beat yourself up over it.0
