C25K question

If anyone is doing the c25K program without a mobile app (no smart phone here), how do you track the time you should be walking or jogging? For instance, how do you monitor when your 60 seconds of jogging is up and you should be now walking and vice versa? It would be awkward to try walking/jogging with a timer in your hand. Any advice?

I did it with just a stop watch ...it sucked but it was manageable . I had elastic bands on one wrist and after each run I'd move them to the other wrist so I knew how many times I had run.0

I used a MP3 player with the C25K podcasts from the NHS UK website.0

This. You can download a podcast to your mp3 player that will tell you when to switch between walking and jogging, usually set to music. The c25k website has links to a variety of them. I personally used Robert Ulrey's podcasts and really liked them. He uses techno music, which makes it easier to pick out a beat matching whatever pace you're running at.0 -
You can use a regular stopwatch or a chronometer on a regular cell phone while running. Thats what I do!0

I use the C25K podcasts by Carli. You can download them. She has Rap and Pop podcasts. She tells you when to run and when to stop, so it def takes the thinking out of it!0

there are numerous apps in the app market for c25k. I just used my phone. I think I used runkeepr? It gave me an option of doing distance or timed c25k.0

So there is a downloadable version for mp3 players? Hmmm...I have one of those somewhere. I will see if my hubby can find a downloadable version for me to use. He is the techno wizard at my house. LOL0

My watch has a timer to set repeating intervals.
If anything else go to a track and try and do it by distance. I think years ago I did something like run 200m, walk 300, and adjust from there. I'm sure google can help as well.0 -

Yes there are tons!!
I used C25K podcasts before I got me an HRM and before I knew about the multitude of C25K apps. While I now use my smartphone for my C25K runs, the podcasts are still a good resource.
