Hungry all morning...

So here is my dilemma...I could eat all morning, I am always hungry!! I can eat my whole day's worth of snacks by lunch. My snacks are usually my fruits and veggies for the day. Once I sit down and actually each my lunch, usually between 11:30 and 12:30, I am good until dinner time.

My prob is the opposite..breakfast holds me no problem, as soon as I eat lunch I am ravenous until dinner. I eat a snack at 3:30 or 4 pm but could easily eat 3x as much. I am trying to keep track of what lunches last the longest..but like today it is not yet 2 and my stomach is GROWLING!
  • I'd say up the protein and fat you get in the morning. Cereal is a great way to spike your blood sugar first thing in the morning, meaning that maybe half an hour-45 minutes after you'll be hungry again. Maybe try some good old fashioned eggs, or steel-cut oats, or whole grain toast or something. Add protein for sure, and maybe some fiber will help keep you full.

I always do 1/2 cup of dry oats, chia seeds or golden flax seeds, 1/2 mashed banana, 1/4 cup of Blue berries, 1/2 cup of strawberries, and a cup of Almond Milk. Once I put the hot water in the oats it gives me about 1 cup cooked oats. I then get 3 servings of fruit....protein out the wazoo and Fiber...Lots and Lots of Fiber....almost 3/4 of my daily fiber intake right there at breakfast. All of this is <400 Calories.

I'm not suggesting this is the be all end all answer, but I have discovered heavy protein and fiber sustains me all day long until lunch, where I then transition my last 2 servings of fruits and do 2 servings of veggies with a protein source at lunch. I can usually sustain until dinner, but I always go heavy at lunch at 500 Calories or more but less than 650. Now I know that is a lot. It's a goal and I don't always hit the goal. I can't stress enough Fiber and Protein will be your friends.
