Lower Back Pain from Insanity

Did anyone else got a lower back pain from doing Insanity? I am on Week 3 Day 3. I have done a round of P90X before.

I actually really hurt my lower back last fall while doing Insanity, but it was because of my Molotov cocktail of being tired (which = poor form), not having eaten at all prior to the workout, and being fairly dehydrated from drinking the night before. Luckily I'm fully recovered and able to do Insanity and other types of high-intensity, plyometric workouts, but I make sure to focus on keeping my core engaged every time I squat. Sometimes my lower back barks at me, but for the most part I'm good. Incorporating weekly yoga has helped me, too. I hope you find a way to get some relief from the pain -- don't be afraid to take a week or so off to make sure you don't overexert a tired back and hurt yourself more.

Thanks! Bad form could be a reason...I try to keep my core tight throughout ..but towards the end the form goes south when I get tired...esp the level1,2 drills, ski abs & in & outs..I guess I ll improve with time!

I miss doing Yoga. I got so flexible while doing the Yoga X Included in P90X. I think..I ll incorporate Yoga back in my routine...Sunday would be a Yoga day.

engage your core the entire workout... when you get tired, your form tends to wane but make a conscious effort to keep your core engaged. as you get stronger, you'll get better.
