Are you a glass half full or glass half empty person?

I am a glass half empty person. The contents have spilled and are probably going to ruin the floor is my usual thinking. People say I always think negative, but I think I'm just being realistic. Sometimes I actually find it comfortable to have these "negative" thoughts.
Are you generally a positive or negative person?
If you are a negative Nelly/Ned do you find that it helps you prepare for the worst or are you just looking at the bad side of life never seeing the beauty.
If you are a positive Polly/Paul do you find that you can embrace the unexpected more, or are you an ostrich with your head buried in the sand?
Is there a positive Polly out there who used to be a negative Nelly or vice versa?

Depends what's in the glass, if it's alcohol it's always half empty :drinker:0

I'm not only a glass full, but it's running over. I drive my husband nuts!
I find it's easier to deal with unexpected happenings if you are seeing the good side of things.0 -
I'm a "It doesn't matter. You simply have twice as much glass as you need" kinda girl. Probably because I was raised by an engineer.0
-
Actually I prefer plastic cups over glasses.0
-
I'm a be proactive, drink what's left in the glass and that way it's completely empty kind of guy.0
-
Def half full, I tend to look for the positive in every situation! Just how I am! No point cryin over spilt milk...get up n get more!0
-
Always be a pessimist, then yer either proved right or pleasantly surprised but never disappointed.
Although as a techie I would say that the glass was incorrectly specced in the original design statement.0 -
A bit of both, I'm paranoid and usually see the worst in things/people but sometimes I can be incredibly positive for others....0

Even an empty glass is full of air.0

Actually, the glass is always full - it's just not necessarily full of one thing...
Water/milk/liquid and air That's how the scientist/chemist in me sees it!0 -
I couldn't agree more. I believe that what you think is what comes about in your life. For positive things to happen in your life I believe it is important to have a positive outlook and expect the best no matter how it might appear sometimes0

Neither. I take it for what it is. If it's crap it's crap. If it's good, it's good. If it's mediocre, it's mediocre. I'm not negative. I don't live in happy snappy fantasy land. I feel gratitude a lot when "it could have been worse" or when I am genuinely grateful. But, I don't put a positive spin on something that was down right horrendous. That's bs.0

Ha - we basically posted the same thing at the same time...0 -
I am definitely a half full type of guy. I start everyone out at a 100%. I share a smile, share a find word. I try to motivate, encourage, and uplift people. Just the way I am.0
-
definitely half empty, I see myself as a realist though, not a pessimist.0
-
Half full definitely! My mother always told me I wear rose colored glasses!0
-
I am neither. I am a 'thankful that I even HAVE a glass' person! :happy:0
-
I am a
"Ok, so that's how much is in my cup today... Alrighty then!.." kinda person :laugh:0 -
Definitely half empty. I'm either proven right or pleasantly surprised. Very rarely I am disappointed.0

I'm usually optimistic, there are just times when things start to get to me and then I head into a glass is empty omg what am i going to do now? depressed spiral. My boyfriend said i'm incredibly optimistic unless it comes to myself, then i always think the worst. but about life in general i typically look on the bright side.0

I am an opportunist! I will drink it while you guys argue about this :bigsmile:0

For me it depends on the glass, as in the situation. I've never met anyone 100% glass half full, and the same goes for 100% glass half empty people. I think as humans we all have ups and downs, and the rough moments in life make the happy moments even more worthwhile. Well that's my opinion anyway.0

I am positive.0

But, I thikn that analogy is bad, having a glass half empty or half full. Makes no sense. If I am drinking and enjoying myself I am happy to be emptying it. Then again, I am also happy to be filling it up for another round too.
Too vague.0 -
Either way I look at it, I still have half a glass.0
-
My glass is always at least half full... You just don't always know what's in it! I am a very positive person, but I'm also very realistic. I don't think you have to be oblivious in order to be happy and look on the bright side of things and always hope for the best. I always hope for the best but prepare for all outcomes.0

I'm a scorpio/libra cusp. Which means it's always half full and more is on the way, unless someone messes with me/disappoints me once. Then, their glass is more like 3/4 empty.0

When I see a half glass, I see an opportunity to make it full rather than a problem that it's not yet full.0
-
I'm always positive. To the point it bothers some people.0
