Not all calories are created equal

Interesting article summary I got this morning in Google Reader:

http://www.weightymatters.ca/2010/07/rose-may-be-rose-but-perhaps-calories.html

No real surprises to folks who eat mostly real food--but it's interesting to see some actual evidence and quantification of the actual value of real food instead of processed.

So true. I love that you posted this. That is why people need to realize this site is a guideline..not a law! Every calorie we eat is going to be processed differently so they really cannot all be counted exactly the same.

Another great reason on why we shouldn't eat processed food.

    An interesting read!
Same example with fresh orange juice, contains far more calories than when in its original state and your body works harder to digest the whole fruit, same with potatoes, eat them mashed and your body doesn't have to work as hard to digest! Guess there are lots of examples.
All food for thought! Eat less processed!

Wow, I have said this to numerous people since joining this site.

It is not simply about Calories In, Calories out.......................it is about the choice and quality of the calories that count.

I guess because some article has been posted everyone is now going to believe it.
