I thought I had this posted but I don't see it. i apologize if it has already been posted. I am trying to 'build a recipe' and can't figure out how. I went under recipes on my food log and put in all the components but all it did was to add all the total amount of calories into my next meal. I want to find out what a serving of this total recipe is. How do i do it???

There's a field at the top of the recipe where you can enter the number of servings.0

Hmmmm that's odd. I input new recipes all the time and have never discovered this problem. Maybe you forgot to enter how many servings that the recipe makes? Did you forget to scroll down and save the recipe first? Just quick trouble shooting thoughts. I hope you get it worked out because its a fabulous perk of this site! :flowerforyou:0

Click the green "Enter new recipe" button on the right side of the screen under the Recipes tab. Then you can add your ingredients and the number of servings.0

I'm not seeing it:frown:0

Are you using a computer or another device, like an iPad? Sometimes the interfaces are different.
If you click on "recipes" then on the green "Enter New Recipes" button, it should be right above "Sugar and protein" just to the right of the recipe name. There should be a "Serves _____ People" field.
I don't think it'll let you create a recipe without populating the "Serves ___ people" field. I tried to and got an error.0 -
problem is I can't find the 'enter new recipes'. I am on my laptop0

If some one could talk me through each stage. I click on food, then dinner, then recipes and there is no add recipe.
Scroll up and click on the FOOD tab...the Recipes tab will pop up directly under the big REPORTS TAB ... Click on that and "Enter New Recipe" should pop up on the right hand side of the screen.
I hope this helps!0 -
Thanks guys. It still isn't there. I'll see if it's there on my PC but the link 1two3four did get me there0

Can you try a different browser? Sometimes when the font face and size of text are changed from the defaults whole menus can be cut off.
When you are reading and replying to messages on these boards do you have a menu under the top tab menu that says:
Message Boards | Groups | Blogs | Find Members | Invite friends0 -

The steps you described above are to enter in your food diary recipes you have already created. You must first create the recipes, then when you are ready add it. Go to Food- Recipes on the right (next to Settings). Your list should be black. Click “Enter New Recipe” on the right. Enter the name (whatever you want to call it) of your recipe, the serving size (I usually go with how many portions I would get out of it), then add your ingredients. My recommendation would be to click “No” to submit the recipe to MFP database then Save. Doing so will ensure its there for you but no one else. Now it is add. Once you are ready to log in, do exactly what you described (“I click on food, then dinner, then recipes”) and you will see your recipe listed. Select it and the number of servings and it will add to you diary.0 -
This shows the location of all of menus and such when they are in their proper places...
FOOD >> RECIPES >> ENTER NEW RECIPES

Weird. Well, I guess it's a good thing that things worked out for you.0
