No Sugar Added Cherry Dump Cake

Ingredients:

1 (20 ounces) can no sugar added crushed pineapple, undrained
1 (20 ounces) can no sugar added cherry pie filling
1 (18.25 ounces) box Pillsbury sugar free yellow cake mix
16 tablespoons light margarine
1/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts, etc., your choice) if desired

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for glass baking dish). Have a 9 by 13-inch baking pan ready.

Dump undrained pineapple into the baking dish or pan and spread it out evenly.

Using a spoon, dump globs of cherry pie filling evenly on top of the pineapple.

Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the cherry and pineapple layers.

Place tablespoons of margarine evenly spaced over the cake mix.

Sprinkle nuts on top if you're using them.

Bake for one hour or until top of cake is golden.

Serve plain or with ice cream or whipped topping.

Yield: 10 to 15 servings

237 calories per serving if cut into 12 servings.
284 calories per serving if cut into 10 servings.

    lol it's called Dump Cake because you just basically dump the ingredients into your pan and throw it in the oven. no mixing or prepping needed.

    It IS a terrible name but it sounds delicious and very easy to make.
    I'm a bit scared to think about what would be in a sugar free cake mix though, I don't think that exists in my part of the world.

    they use Splenda in the mix instead of sugar.

    I would like to know too-seems like you're supposed to just use the dry mix. I've never seen this before. How does the cake cook like that? I'm sure it's delicious, this is just something new for me :)

    yes you just sprinkle the dry mix over the fruits. the moisture from the pineapple, pie filling, and margarine makes it moist and delicious.

    the juice from the pinapple and pie filling and butter cooks into the cake mix, it's pretty much a cobbler
