Newbie here

Hi all,

My name is Candace and I am a newbie. I have been doing the dance with weight gain ever since I can remember. I was a chunky kid who hit a growth spurt over the summer before high school. I stayed fairly lean until I was about 21 and ever since then have dropped and gained non-stop. I know my biggest problem now is that I don't get enough physical activity. I am a makeup artists by trade and a work at home mom. Most of my chores around the house are standing or sitting chores with the exception of a few so I really don't get much movement in my days. Even when working, I just stand there and apply makeup.

Anyway, I started jogging about 6 months ago. I really built my stamina for a few weeks and was so proud of myself. Then I got really sick and just never picked it back up after I got well again. Now I have been walking in the mornings with the little one and decided to start trying again. Going to be walking for a couple weeks before I start my jogging training again. I want to re-establish my stamina and do a 5k in August. I hope that I can find lots of support here and lose weight and get fit!

    Welcome, It is always hard to get going again after you have had a great start, then a bad period after that. I am in that bad period myself and am working on getting moving again and losing the last 15 to 20 lbs and also working on getting fit and strong.

    Willing to help and be helped along this journey we have all decided to be a part of.
