What depresses and/or motivates you about your weight?

What depresses me - Shopping, after I've ate too many calories, girls in magazines, girls in person, the girls that talk to my boyfriend and hug him, my mirror image.
What motivates me - Cute clothes I can't fit, healthy foods that taste great, girls that have lost a lot of weight, people that have a way more complicated life than me that become fit and healthy, the fact that I want my boyfriend to think everything of me plus more, that I want to be confident in myself.
So, what depresses and/or motivates you about your weight?

First off, adorable baby!
Second, you are still young and able to make changes that will last the rest of your life. Throw out all of the fashion magazines and your scale, and eat right, and train hard! Focus now on getting stronger and feeling better, the size changes will come.0 -

This is great advice.
I'm a big believer that what's inside is way more important than our bodies. I've met people who were ill or injured who didn't look like the people you would see in a fashion magazine, but who had great attitudes and were a joy to be around.
What depresses me about my body? To be honest, I'm not depressed -- because I know I'm changing myself. I'm doing something about the extra pounds. I'm getting out of my house, taking walks in nature at dawn or sunset. I feel great.
What motivates me? I've had enough of being overweight and feeling tired. I'm changing one day at a time. In a few months I will look better, feel better, and hopefully be able to jog through the national park near my house.
Change happens one day at a time. You can do it!0 -
It depresses me that I am too broke to buy new clothes! lol But it is encouraging when I realize just how much I have lost and that very few of my old pieces of clothing fit me anymore.0

It depresses me that I've been fighting this my whole bloody life (and I STILL ain't got it right)
It motivates me when I see the scale move and when I can pull things out of my "skinnier" clothes pile and they fit again!0 -
Great post.
What depresses me is the fear and still self doubt that I sometimes get of not being able to continue to keep losing weight. I have come far and only need to lose 16 more pounds until my goal of 150lbs
What depresses me secondly is to think I will fail once in maitnance because I have never maintained in my life.
What motivates me is the feeling I get when people are shocked and give me postive compliments of how different I look, how I inspire them.
What motivates me secondly is the feeling of wanting to get up and start my day, go shopping, the feeling of being happy, and wanting to go out of my house and go places and not be invisible.0 -
When my fiancé tells me how good I'm going to look... he is so sweet and is motivating but it still hurts my motivation/ self esteem.. feels like I'm not good enough. I know that isn't true, he loves me and he loves me the way I am right now.. just one of those bittersweet things.0

Where I live. I'm an American in South Korea. The average Korean male is my height (5'9") and weighs so much less (125-140 lbs avg) and the fashion here is skin-tight skinny pants/shirts. It's nearly impossible to find nice fitting clothes. Most stores stop around size XL (which is a 32" waist). If I can get down to a 32" waist (currently 36'ish), I can finally buy nicer clothes.0

What depresses me is - from 214 to 188 I'm still wearing too big gigantic tops to hide my big bottom. What motivates me is - there are times when I really get serious and I work hard to get to my second goal.0

What motivates me:
How far I've come. I seriously never thought I would get under 200 lbs again. The fact that I have to buy size 18 pants because my 24s look stupid big, even with a belt.
What depresses me:
My body's stubborn refusal to lose weight in the one place I would really like to see change. I am aware that one cannot spot reduce, but when I think about how far I still have to go to even consider getting down to where I might not follow my gut into a room like a schooner chasing a tugboat, it's depressing. To even come close to 25% body fat, I need to lose almost as much as I've already done.
