I sheepishly admit that I really like "Shake It" by Metro Station. I'm so embarrassed.

Don't be embarrassed! I think we all have songs that we wouldn't "normally" listen to, but they give us the drive to SHAKE IT!

What embarrasses me is trying to keep myself from singing out loud while I'm on the eliptical! :embarassed:

I have been caught singing on the treadmill! I actually got caught up in a song and was doing a fist pump while I walking on the treadmill when I almost lost balance and fell. It was hilarious but I learned my lesson! lol And no need to be ashamed of Metro Station. I however am ashamed of loving Ke$ha for the gym...

Great choices....I don't know what it is about the music. Yesterday, I listened to the same old songs the first thirty minutes of my walk and the songs I listened to on the next 20 minutes, ended up being more upbeat and I burned 317. The treadmill was set on a lower speed and I burned more calories in less time. Music makes a huge difference.

    Fall Out Boy
    Black Eyed Peas
    LMFAO (type)

Basically fast music, like dance or techno type songs. Something you can speed walk / jog too.
  • I could list a whole bunch of songs, but there is one that gets me to dig deep and bust out one more lap when I don't think I can anymore better than any other:

"It's My Life" by Bon Jovi
  • I have a favorite elliptical machine out here in Greece that when I am at the top of my stride my eyes go above the TV mounted to the top of the machine and I can make eye contact with myself in the mirror. I ALWAYS compete with the person on the machine next to me or with the guy I make eye contact with in the mirror! If he is sweating profusely then I have to push harder to beat him and I most always play Bad Religion for my music. They are one of, if not my favorite punk bands ever and they make me want to fight my lazy nature and all the food I have allowed to maintain a residence on my waistline.
