Having a litte think to myself, a lot say to lose weight its 70% healthy eating, 30% exercise....
I'm wanting to ask a few questions and please give me your opinion/facts?
1. Can I have wholemeal bread for breakfast?
2. If I have fruits as snacks, is this ok?
3. Can I drink flavoured water as a replacement for normal water?
(it says on the bottle there's like less than 10 calories and 0 sugars)
4. Is it a good way to add salad/veg to every meal I have along with meats and potatoes?
5. Is the occasional treat/white rice/white pasta OK?
What food plan do you recommend?

5. yes
the 70% healthy eating thing it's a myth. that 70% is your calorie intake, not healthy food IMO. you can eat junk and still lose weight as long as you are in a deficit. of course, healthy eating makes it easier to stay under your calorie limit, but i don't suggest cutting out certain food groups. as soon as you lose all the weight, it's like you're getting out of a food jail and BAM! you eat them even more than you did before0 -
1. Sure. That's one of the best things to have at breakfast. You are fasting whole night so your body is hungry for energy, so carbs like bread is great at mornings cos carbs gives the most energy.
2. Of course. All kinds of snacks is ok. Even not so healthy ones, like candies for example. Just make sure you still count all of those calories and don't have too much of those unhealthy snacks (fruits also has a lot of sugar in them). But if you do it and count cals you won't gain any weight/still lose weight.
3. Of course. Flavors has like no calories (10 cals = no cals, it's not worth counting).
4. Yep, fiber is a good thing, hehe. Will make you feel fuller as well and very low in calories. I personally do not count veggies, except those dense ones like potatoes, beans etc, but not greens and leafs like cabbage, broccoli, etc. There's like 30 cals n serving what is not worth counting cos it's pretty much burned down by digesting food itself. Plus most of those calories comes from fiber anyways and human body can not break that all down. So most of veggies = no calories.
5. Yup! In fact, it's not that important to ate only whole foods. It is mainly about calories in vs calories out. If you ate white rice you won't gain weight/still lose weight, if you do not go over your calories. This "bad and good carbs" thing is WAAAY too exaggerated. Just as "healthy eating" thing. It's mostly all about calories, you ate over your maintenance you gain weight, you ate below you lose weight, you ate at it and you stay same weight. Other things as what foods you ate and when have some impact on it, but not that significant, it's way too exaggerated.0
