Ok so I have a question for anyone who has lost quit a bit of weigh. Did your stomach get saggy with loose skin? I am absolutely terrified of that happening. I have only lost like 10 lbs so far and it already looks like my stomach getting smaller/saggier.

Is there anyway to prevent/lessen this during weight loss?
What exercises would help?

I have lost 75lbs and maintained for over a year. At the beginning I had a little extra skin. Over time it has gotten better. It may also be the fact that I have had 4 c-sections. I think if you get the right nutrition your skin will be OK. Part of it is genetics too.
  • What you need to do is a mixture of cardio AND strength training so the loose skin will be toning up.

Ive exercised whole time, sometimes my skin firms up during weight loss , sometimes tightens during a plateaux, My bum needed a lot of squats and lunges to fill out ha ha . Really its best to loose weight painstakingly slow, but that's not motivating!

At your age it shouldn't be a problem.

I have lost 100 pounds and the places that I seem to have a lot of work with toning are the backs of my arms and my thighs. I do a lot of walking, so I know my thighs are getting stronger, and they are staying bigger because of muscles. The loose skin isn't terrible yet...and hopefully it won't be. I was told to keep very hydrated to keep the elasticity in the skin. I drink at least 64 ounces of water everyday, if not more. I was also told to start strength training to help with it as well.

I have to applaud you for using Lose and Loose the RIGHT way!!! So many people spell LOSE like Loose..

and yay.. I think you can exercise and tone to a certain extent as far as saggy skin goes

As you loose weight, it is important to tone the muscles under the skin to help. Also use a great body lotion that doesn't list water as the first ingredient. You will still have issues with it, when you stretch a ballon and then let out the air is the way to look at your skin. Time well help I am told and it appears to be working. I have lost 75 pounds and just coming up to a year. The toning and lifting weights has really helped. Other things to help abds specificially include reverse abd crunches, bicycles, planks and jackknife situps. Good luck with your healthy body make over.

I've lost a little over 100 lbs. I do have a bit of a belly sagging, but it's still better than fat sagging.

Eventually, it should firm up some, but if you have stretch marks, that is somewhat permanent. You can improve them somewhat, but bad ones will need some sort of medical intervention to improve appearance.

If one has more than 80+ lbs to lose, then chances are higher for loose skin.

There are lots of factors though: age, how much weight to lose, how fast one loses it, how someone lost it and genetics.

IMO, the slower you lose it, the less chance you have with loose skin.
