Too much of anything is bad for you. Personally I think avocado is a great food, high in monounsaturated fats and filling. I also think it is very high cal and I would say any more than about half an avocado a day (especially if you are reducing calorie intake) is going to mean you are falling short on nutrition in some other area of your diet.0

I guess it depends on how much you really are eating. They are a great source of healthy fat and fiber. If you are staying within your calorie goal and not overeating other fats all day and have no health issues or weight gain, I don't see a problem with it.0

I love avacadoes they are good for you and great for replacing some o those other nasty fats that are not so good like mayonaise. They are high in fat, but of the best variety. Just my two cents, however I love that it is a food that you can put on your skin to make your face beautiful and you can eat it as well! I personally consume 1/2 a large or a small avacado a day:laugh: .0

Definitely one of my favourite foods - and super good for you! But as the others said, too much of anything isn't good. I tend to put no more than a quarter of a large avocado on anything and probably don't go through more than one a week, maybe two if I'm in Mexican food mode!0

I recently went over on my fats because of an avacado and my status message was something along the lines of "I went over on my FATS but I don't give a *kitten* because it was an AVACADO!" lol0

I eat an avacado a day (big one) and doesn't seem to slow me down at all.. having said that.. I don't have much fat otherwise in the foods I eat so probably is ok.. I don't track my food so i wouldn't know if I was over or under in fats... but they are just so darn good and the only way I will ever eat salad!0

Avocados are very good for you.
Remember that you can eat just abut anything you want in moderation.0 -
Avacado and Mango Popsicles (93 calories per serving)
In a blender, combine 3 cups cubed mango, 3/4 ripe avocado, 5 tbsp sugar and 3 tbsp fresh lime juice. Stir in 1 tbsp grated orange zest.0 -
<<Mumbles something about hating avocados so much she won't even buy items that are avocado color>>

So I usually will have 3 little slivers on a sandwich instead of mayo. I also eat it alot when I make cobb salads (hold the dressing of course  ) I will have this salad prob 3 times a week. So I would say maybe a hole avacodo a week. maybe alittle more at times.0 -

I think the best way I love to eat them is a few slices on a turkey sandwich or cut into small squares and through into a salad with grilled chicked and tomatos. YUMMM!!!!
Now I want one with all this talk :bigsmile:0 -
Funny you brought this up. I am sitting here eating a turkey and avacado sandwich. YUM!:bigsmile:0
