Hey all,

Since I got back from my holiday almost a week ago I've been so glad to get back on MFP and see what you've all been up to, and get back on track with my own stuff, but I have a problem.....I've become so slack at logging!
I seem to get half way through the day logging everything that passes my lips, but something goes wrong mid afternoon and before I know it the day is gone, I'm done with eating and none of it is logged. Grrr.
So I need to make myself accountable for this again - I know that it's a great tool and really helps me to keep on track nutritionally. I don't know why I can't do it anymore!
So basically....if anyone happens to see that I'm slacking off....please kick my *kitten* into gear!!

xx

What helps me is to plan my meals for the day either the night before, or in the morning before eating anything. I write everything down and as soon as I get to work I log everything in that I know I am going to eat. Usually dinner isn't planned, so once I get home and figure out what I am going to make I write it down and log it as soon as I'm done eating. Then it's all done without too much thought!

Definitely plan out your day before, or at least after breakfast. This will also help you from going over and can help you set goals for your work out ('cause you'll need to work that in). Sometimes I do mine before if I'm eating out and will need to rearrange my other meals during the day or if I'm just extra excited or have the time onhand. Mostly though, I just fill it all in sometime after breakfast before I eat anything else. If I eat something extra, I just add it in or can make tweaks and then will know how many I have left or what I need more of (protein, fiber, etc.).

Are you using your phone? You can log on anytime.
  • I also plan out my day. Although I haven't logged in a while. I really should. But when I was I would do it in the morning or the night before. I even planned my work outs. That way even when I didn't feel like going to the gym I still went because I already at what I needed for my workouts. Plus too if I did see something I wanted to eat I knew if I had those calories to spend or not. That was/is helpful for me so I can make a discussion if that brownie or whatever is worth it. It made is a lot easier to just walk away from bad food.
  • I just started but I know that if I don't write something down, I'm going to "sneak" it in. Too bad my body still gets all the fat. haha. Once I'm back at work and not just home where I can log it into the computer as I eat, I'm going to have at the very least a scrap of paper with me so that I can write down what I ate. Maybe if you do that every day and save the scraps, you can just log them once a week?

Thanks for all the advice peeps - I'm gonna meal plan and shop for the next week later today so that should really help to get everything back on track!
