exercising when being ill

I have a bacterial infection on my throat, again! I have been on antiobiotics the first time round but it came back. Its not as bad, so I decided not to take antibiotics again and just wait for it to go with was what the doctor suggested. I am feeling fine in myself, get a little tired in the eve. Just feel the throat really.
I have been exercising for a long time now, due to me being ill and my children being ill- which just juiced me out completely.
Do you think its a good idea for me to start now?
Nothing major just a cross trainer

if you feel up to it go for it, from what i have read it's actually advised to do some exercise when ill, unless very ill as it helps you to actually recover quicker, i have been exercising and losing weight since jan 2012 and the most i've had is a minor cold, i have worked out through them an they've never gotten any worse where as beforehand i was getting sick all the time and getting full on flus and virul bugs e.t.c i am convinced exercise helps fight it off, when you sweat you expel toxins from the body e.t.c it can only do you good in my unprofessional opinion lol

If you're not feeling too good I'd say you should rest a bit, you can lower the intensity of your workouts and try to gradually intensify your regime. I had a minor cold recently and decided to continue with my daily workouts, but my condition worsened and i had to take antibiotics and s** load of other stuff, so I stuck to walks and hiking when I felt little bit better. Now I'm doing my daily aerobics again after 2 weeks of being ill, so take it slow0

This may not apply to you, but you need to be careful if you exercise while taking painkillers, because this can mask warning pains. I do yoga as my only regular exercise, and I've had to skip it nearly every day this week for that reason. Fortunately my lack of appetite is making up for the lack of exercise.0

I listen to my body and that's worked well. I exercised (lightly) through a case of pneumonia when I was in my 40s, but earlier this year I had a cold and was so thoroughly worn out one day (I'd gotten very little sleep the previous night because I was so congested) that I skipped a workout completely- resting so that my body could heal seemed like a better idea.
I'm not a doctor, but I'd say go for it as long as you're not getting alarming messages from your body.0 -
Thank you all! I have fallen asleep whilst making my kids go to bed, just woke up now and feeling v.tired! So I quess thats that for tonight haha.
Will see how I feel tomorrow
