Revision Munchies

Hey! I am a student in my final year with 9 exams and an essay to go. I really struggle with eating the right things at this time of year. I like to treat myself if I finish an essay or say 'This will get me through the revision.' Any one else have the same problem? Can you give me any food ideas to kick this bad habit? :flowerforyou:

I understand this completely - currently 3 days away from an essay deadline and close to having 5 exams. The thing I am really going to work on is getting in a good routine and not staying up late doing my work. I've found in the past that when I don't sleep properly I eat loads more. And if I stay late at the library the night before the deadline I am guaranteed to buy a huge bag of pick and mix instead of eating a proper meal - and then eating more as soon as I get home. Remember to eat good meals and get lots of sleep and it's definitely easier. I have loads of fruit in my house right now and I keep making popcorn. Plain kernels with a bit of oil and natural sweetener - you get so much of it from just a handful of kernels and it keeps you snacking for a while, and not too unhealthy at all! Also, drinking loads of coffee to stay awake is never a good idea!
Good luck with all your work!!0 -
i understand too. You taking a bunch of 2 credits?
I don't eat much at this time of year actually. I'm so stressed out that i don't eat and nothing sounds good anyway. I make myself eat something substantial before the exam.
I drink tea. Lots and lots of Hot tea. Asa treat when i feel I've done a good job for the day, I make a cup with a spoon of sugar and a dash of cream. To me, this is indulgent.
To be perfectly honest. My fridge contains fruit milk and slimfast. My shelves have canned soup, cereal, pasta, red sauce.0 -
Thank you Josalinn and Alexandra289! I love the popcorn idea and tea drinking so I am going to give that a go and try to get an early night tonight
It's nice to know that it's not just me!
I am doing a degree in the UK in languages which means lots of little 10% and 20% exams and assignments! Good luck to both of your with your assignments and I hope that the stress of it doesn't get to you too much! :flowerforyou:0 -
Oh, this is so recognizable, when i was still studying it would be so hard not to want to go and eat something, especially if you are making looong days and studying through late in the evening. This still happens when I am especially absolved in a big project at work. I guess the strategy for me is not to skip (healthy) meals. I like the popcorn idea, but those calories do still add up I guess, so you could also try other "small" snack foods; like baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, or strawberries. You can put a bowl of those on your desk and munch away whilst studying without doing much damage.
Good luck with your exams!0
