Best Healthy Places in Chicago

I'll be in Chicago shortly with work (have been before) but I'm now more conscious about food. I don't want to be stuffing my face with a burger :-)
So can anyone recommend some nice restaurants that serve amazing but healthy delicious food.
Near East Wacker.
Cheers guys!

do you eat meat? fish?
i generally head to that area for dinners but there are some good lunch places. arami to go (can't recommend that enough). my husband works in that area and often gets lunch at fox & obel, freshii, or protein bar.
for dinners you might have the best luck sticking to seafood houses. there are a few of your basic chain restaurants in that area too, they might have nutritional info on their websites...i'm not sure as i don't eat at chain restaurants.0 -
Thank you, yes I eat both meat and fish. I want to increase my intake of fish so that sounds good. I want to stay away from the chains too, much prefer independent run places.
I keep hearing about Girl & the Goat, last time I was there we went for dinner at The Signature Room in John Hancock tower along with some New Orleans place that was a little crazy with the hot sauces! Bit too hot for my liking!0 -
Girl and the Goat is definitely worth a visit...one of the things I miss since I've moved from Chicago. Alinea is also a restaurant that everyone mentions.
Fogo de Chao is also one of my favorites. It's a brazilian steakhouse, but their salad bar and buffet is to die for. Niu is great for sushi.
In terms of quick healthy eats my go to was Protein Bar. Really simple but I always picked up my green juice and breakfast from there while I was on the go.0 -
Ah fab - there's a Protein Bar not too far from where I am so that will be good to grab something to eat on the Sunday before everyone else gets in.
Can't wait!0 -

Protein Bar ROCKS! Their menu has nutritional information on it for all of their items as well, which I find particularly helpful. Catch 35 (on Wacker between Dearborn and Clark I think?) has good seafood. Chicago also has some great steakhouses (Maestro's, Chicago Cut, etc.) if you like a nice filet.0 -

i would pick purple pig over girl and the goat any day of the week but that is just me. the food is better, the wait is shorter, the hype is less, it even costs a hair less.
sable is really fantastic and in that area. alinea is astonishingly amazing but you won't be able to get a table there without months of notice. (and several hundred bucks to drop in dinner)
the problem with a lot of the streeterville/river north restaurants is that they are for tourists. since they cater to tourists and thus non-repeat customers they don't have to be good...and most aren't.0 -
I give props to The Protein Bar. They have soy milk and give you options of egg protein, whey protein, and soy protein. The boosts they have are a plus for me and also they have extras like aloe vera (which I recommend) that I put in most of my shakes to begin with. It doesn't effect the taste of everything else, but you get the benefits of healthier skin from eating it. They also have tons of juices if you're a fan of that instead
I also really like Fox & Obel, I've eaten at the Cafe they have there. They have a super yummy mediterranian dish and yummy salads too I also recommend getting their flavored iced tea they serve and a dark chocolate bar (different percentages too for choice) if you want something to get rid of sweet tooth0
