fruit sugar

I live in a tropical country, where fruit and vegetables are available year round, and I try to eat lots of them. However, MFP suggests that I should eat only 28 grams of sugar per day, and if I eat an apple and some watermelon, I'm almost over! It leaves me no room for the sugars in other foods. I don't add sugar to food very often, but so many foods have sugar in them. suggestions?

Fruit sugar - you should not limit.(of course, eating 30 bananas a day wont do you any good, but 3-10 fruits are ok ). I think that it is a bug, there is a big difference between processed sugar, and natural. You should limit only your BAD sugars - to ~30 g a day, and dont worry about the rest.

Sugar is just a carb. As long as you're eating enough fats and protein, your carbs/sugar aren't important unless you have a medical issue that requires carbs/sugar to be monitored. As long as you're under your calorie goal, you'll lose weight. Some people find that sugar (even from fruit) causes them to have more sugar/carb cravings. If this isn't the case for you there's no need to limit sugar.

I find the same problem... I also get discouraged when I have a half of banana w/ breakfast and it alone has 15 gm of carbs or I eat 2 oz of carrots on my salad and it has 6 gm of carbs. I always thought, "I eat low carb, I don't bread/pasta etc" but after tracking on here I realized I eat 150 grams of CHO's a day, even when I think I'm eating well. Just seems crazy!
