HR Monitor Watch...Do they really help u lose weight?

I really need to get a good heart rate monitor watch, to help me keep track of what I'm burning during my workouts. The one that I have you gotta put two fingers on it for your heart rate to show up on the screen. And that is a big pain in the butt when I'm tryin to check it while in mid workout.

What's is the best HR Monitor watch for a decent amount of money? I think this will help me, log my calories burned on MFP or can I look up a workout dvd on here and it will automatically put the calories burned?

I just need to know what I'm burning and how to log it into MFP tracker. Any info will be greatly appreciated!!

I have a polar heart rate monitor - you can find them on amazon for around $60 or so - I'm addicted I wearing mine! I love getting a real reading - sometimes the numbers are way different!

I also have a Polar HRM ( FT4 ) a lot of people have them on here.

I like it because it gives me a real reading of what I burned whilst working out ( including weight lifting ) the machines at the gym are terribly inaccurate...even when you input your weight / age etc.

So...to answer your question, yes. They can AID you in losing weight, it is a fabulous tool to have.

I got my Polar FT4 on Amazon for $70 plus shipping. It's nothing fancy but I love wearing it and seeing exactly how much I've burned.

Watching your diet will help you lose weight. Not the heart rate monitor device. Diet is 80% of this.
