Okay, so I know I may be paranoid here, but hear me out.. and before you get on me to see a doctor my insurance is kicking in a month, and i just want to know if anyone else has experienced this, since I think it may be excersize related.
Since the first of the year I did a couple things A) Began eating a "weekday vegetarian/pescetarian diet Excersizing three days a week with a personal trainer C) Quit Smoking. Since then I started to notice that I've been having some real problems standing up after sitting. My legs feel as if they have no strength and I have to balance myself until I get the gumption to walk, which is usually normal after 30-60 seconds, but sometimes I feel a mild pain. I feel seriously wobbly and at times have been really afraid I would actually fall over- and it just seems like it's getting worse. As you can see I think all three things can be related to this, but as you know these symptoms also are related to some pretty scary diseases.. I'm 22 years old though, I just don't see anything serious, but I've got my husband worried. I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this?

Your food diary doesn't look complete. If it is you aren't eating enough some days. Ensuring you get adequate protein while working out with a trainer is pretty important. Also, you might want to add a multivitamin and even possibly a fish oil. Talk to the trainer about stretching/recovery post workout. Foam rolling could help if it is a circulation issue.0

Is it muscular pain or more of a numbness pain (like when your legs or feet fall asleep)? When did it start and how rapidly is it worsening?
It sounds to me like it would be between mild/temporary nerve damage (like pinching vertebrae) or circulation issues. Do your feet or hands get particularly cold while you're sitting?0 -
The last two weeks have been pretty crazy, so my diary isn't what it should be, but this has been happening since January, I normally reach my food goals and I'm careful to get all my protein. My trainer and I stretch before and after each workout, she's as clueless as I am, haha! But I'll try to up my protein a little more and get a multivitamin.
It's not really a pain, more of numbness, loss of strength. It also is hard for me to stretch my leg out all the way sometimes, but as far as my hands and feet, they are fine. When I have a super heavy workout my feet will hurt really bad, but I read online that could just be because of my weight, and even then it has to be a pretty intense workout.0 -
It could definitely be a number of things..but let me ask you this:
What is your potassium intake like?
Chronically low potassium (Hypokalemia) is a large contender toward muscle dysfunction and weakness. ESPECIALLY with periodic -or even prolonged- moments of tingling or numbness. It also wouldn't let your muscles properly expand and contract which might be the reason why you're having trouble stretching.
It might be worth your while to eat 1-2 bananas a day (or straight potassium supplements which are very easy to find) and see if that makes any difference!0 -
I actually don't know what my potassium intake is.. I usually eat a banana a few times a week, but I will up it for sure!0

I wouldn't say that's FOR SURE the solution to your issue but I had a long, extended period of time where I was having a multitude of health issues because my potassium was low. Numbness in my legs, stiffness in my appendages, constipation, frustration/irritation, and headaches to name a few. It wasn't until I started having charlie horses 4x a week (Oh the horror!) that I was finally able to pin it on my potassium. Took supplements and within 3 days I was good as new!
Exercise in your life can make you require a lot more potassium vs. when you didn't exercise much at all! I've had a few friends who ate bananas occasionally before joining diet programs and suddenly finding they needed double that when they started getting serious!
I sincerely hope it works for you! And when that insurance kicks in I would definitely recommend you go to that doctor and get a few blood level tests done just in case <330
