How often is it healthy to do it? I am like obsessed and step on that scale every chance i get... is in my bathroom so is like very tempting to just step on it everytime i go in there...does anyone else have this problem? I heard once that is not healthy to weigh yourself everyday. I wonder if my obsession is actually keeping me from losing anything i have been dieting for 2 weeks now, first week i kind of cheated a few days but all this past week i have been good and lost 3 pounds, then got my period and got them back yesterday i lost 1 pound and i gained it back today..like wtf really? I have been doing all the right things

I weigh myself every morning so I can track my trends. It doesn't hinder me mentally because I know how much body weight can fluctuate, so I'm okay with it. I think I would get more frustrated only weighing in once a week and it ending up on a high day because of water weight. With weighing every day I would see that it's not a true gain.0

I weigh daily but my emotions aren't based on it. I have an app that charts the trend. It has a dotted line that I try to stay under. Like today, I was up a pound. The chart showed I was still on a downward trend (still below dotted line). I like seeing daily fluctuations so I know how food, TOM, lack of exercise affects me. If it makes you feel bad about yourself- try weekly or bi-weekly. Put it on a high shelf that requires a step stool. Or just do monthly measurements.0

Once a month. If my husband didn't object, I'd throw the damn thing out.0

I weigh daily, but then again I have the same mind set as Jennilyn. I track my weight fluctuations in excel.
For people who get stressed over going up 1+ lbs overnight, I recommend weighing once a week or less.0 -
I agree with you!!! The most i have been able to wait is 2 days....if i lose then.i get happy and.it motivates me to keep going amd work harder towards my goal but when i dont..man that is depressing i feel so.big. even.if is just a pound it just makes me angry .0

I weigh myself every Monday first thing in the morning. I've kept a journal for the past 11 years! It's really neat to look back and compare. You'll be amazed how much your body can & will change in the years if you allow it too!0

I go for once a week....that's just my personal preference....
Doesn't mean I don't take a peak every now and then during the week, but I never record it.0 -
Once a week, if I did every day I would've probably given up on my diet but hey that's just me!0

Once a day, for the sake of tracking trends (such as how TOM is impacting me, etc.) I try to have as little emotional attachment to it as possible because I know that it will change.
Once a week is my 'official' weigh in, in that I tell everyone on Facebook how much I've lost
I measure once a month.0 -
I weigh myself most mornings. It's a bit of a process, since I weigh with my Wii, so it's not something I would do multiple times a day. If I had a scale, though? I'd never be off it. I'm glad I don't have one!0

Every day for me. I don't mind the fluctuations as long as my Monday check ins are going down each week.
I should try weekly weigh ins again but I find that if I don't see a number each day then I have no anchor point each day.0 -
I weigh on Tuesday mornings and record the weight. I will usually step on the scale on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday to see how things are progressing, but I don't change my weight till Tuesday.0

Thanks to everyone i guess we'll see how it goes tomorrow.0

I weigh every night before I get in the shower.
It acts as either a boost or extra motivation, I see no problem with it!0 -
Your weight will always go up after your period because you retain water. That'll go back down when you're done. Also watch your sodium levels, that'll make you retain water too. It's just water weight through so don't panic. For that reason I weigh myself every 2 to 3 days, especially if I had loads of sodium one day. I give it time to settle down. I can't wait a whole week. So just every 2 to 3 days works for me. And if I didn't loose weight in those days I weigh myself the next day to see if anything has changed.0

I like to do that too. I weigh myself every few days but don't always record when let's say I see a drop in weight, until I see that same drop the next day. Only because it could be the body acting all weird.0 -
Saturday/Sunday morning (Sunday's if I forget or when I don't sleep Friday/Saturday) after waking and using the loo is the one that is my "real" weight. The first 4 weeks, every day to gauge daily fluctuations and several times a day to gauge intra-day fluctuations. The week or two before my 12 week goal (and Bod Pod assessment the following week) several times a week to check the water weight is returning to my Bod Pod day level (I try to minimise differences). Currently, several times a day as I'm hovering at 15 stone +/- 2-5 pounds and am awaiting the point where I have definitely dropped below 15 stone no matter when I get on a scale.0

I weigh myself every morning just to see how I am doing. I write down what I weigh every Friday morning. This method works well for me.0

I weigh ever morning and only log it if it sticks for 3 days in a row0

I actually left mine at a friends house and go every weekend motivates me since I don't want to look bad in front of them so no matter what I give it my all to show improvement to myself and my friends its 3 of us that do this so ... every week lol0

:flowerforyou: i weigh once a week on a tuesday morning the first thing after emptying my bladder! if i weighed every day or several times a day it would drive me crazy with the up & down! if you weigh after a shower or bath you could weigh as much as 2 pounds more due to the water under your skin!0

I officially weigh myself once a week, I unofficially weigh myself 3 other times during the week if I happen to be around a scale. :laugh:0

If you get upset every time the scale fluctuates up, then you are not a good candidate for daily weigh-ins. Fluctuations are inevitable. I weight myself once, sometimes twice a week. I usually regret doing it more than once.0
