HIIT 3 or 4days? and other exercise too such as 30DS?

I'm doing the Josie Gibson DVD which is HIIT and the trainer recommends to do it at least 4 times a week but I'm hearing HIIT should only be done max 3 times a week? Also I did 30DS a few months ago and want to start it again would it be ok to do this on alternative days to the HIIT DVD? Or is it too much?

I would alternate the HITT with 30 day shred for 6 days...and on the 7th day rest...this way you are incorporating strenght and cardio...0
