Lower belly pooch

What are some tips to getting rid of it? I'm paying closer attention to my fat and sugar intake-I heard that helps. Any other suggestions for getting it flatter.

    Walking, jogging, aerobics or other cardio are the only things that have worked for me. Unfortunately for me, it's the *last* thing to go when I'm losing weight...

    Obligatory "you can't target fat loss from a specific body part" post.

    Basically, just keep doing what you're doing. As you lose more fat it will eventually start to shrink. I'm sorry to say that's probably the last place it will come off.

    reverse crunches really helped with mine. It's not gone, but it's definitely shrinking!! :)

    I have the same problem. I'm just going to keep going and hope that it's the last thing to firm up but any suggestions/help would be really appreciated.

    Since you can't spot reduce: All you can do is continue to work out and eat healthy at a calorie deficit and be patient until your body uses up the fat there. You can use things vitamin E oils, bio oil, or coconut oil to improve the look of the skin slightly and you can do core strengthening exercises to tighten up those muscles to pull the belly in. AND OF course you could get lipo suction!

    Thank you to you and bekhahrogers. I don't mind that it will come off last. At least I know that I'm not doing anything wrong. I've read some people didn't lose theirs until they lost nearly all of their body fat. It bothers me because people who carry more weight above their waist and have "rounder" stomachs always look at me like I'm crazy and give me the "you don't even have a stomach." It appears that way sometimes but this darn pooch...Sometimes I wish I had the "average" belly lol It seems like those people lose theirs faster.

    Thanks for the suggestions. I don't do crunches a lot (I just focus on cardio) so I'm going to start doing some. I heard planks are good too.

    It's so gross watching my pooch bloat as I eat smh. I'm pretty sure my weight goes there first.

    I've got the same problem (and about my only issue and the reason I am doing this) I have been sticking to a 1200 calorie diet, walking as much as I can. I have also been doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred (On Level 2 right now) It has lots of great exercises that work that area. In the first week I lost 1.5 inches of my stomach. Tomorrow is my wieghing/measurement day and i think I've lost more, as I'm starting to notice a difference.

    Keep losing body fat. It's the only way to reveal your awesome stomach. I have lost 67 lbs of body fat going from 36% BF to 15% BF and I still have only 1 ab showing. Very frustrating. If it's still there at 10% BF, I give up. I don't do any targeted exercises, but I do lift heavy and that really works the core. Doing dead lifts is killer on the abs.

    If you have got to the point where your body fat percentage is below 12-15% (really dependent upon the person and how their mass is split) or are considered lean, and you still have the belly issue, then counting your macros can affect it, many people focus on carb reduction mainly though.

    I have noticed that mine has reduced greatly after I began running. With other cardio it never really went anywhere, once I switched it up and started a running program it almost seemed as if it melted away.
  • Yes, you're right. Running and cardio workout. For belly, you can try reverse crunches and planks. It works for me 100% :)
