Can anybody tell me how hard is the 30 day shred? Can a beginner do it? I am about 70 lbs overweight, and am 47 yrs. old, and was wondering if i should get the 30 day shred?

I don't think it's too terrible. There's one girl that does the "regular" version & then one girl that does a "modified" version. You could always start on the modified and then work up to the regular. You can also take 5 sec breaks to catch your breath. I think it would be worth it to try it. I won't lie, it is semi hard though...start off with lighter weights & work your way up.

It's not impossible. I am 32 and 130 pounds overweight. I can do it with modifications. I improved a lot in just 1 week. I couldn't do the jumping jacks at all the first time, and now I can get through almost every single one. The hardest part is getting up and down off the floor fast enough! Give it a try and don't feel bad if you have to modify stuff at first. You'll progress quickly!

I'm doing the shred now, in level 2, about 60 lbs to go also. It's hard, very hard, sweating, breathing hard, muscles twitching when I'm done. But I can feel it, and each day has been an improvement over the day before. As others have mentioned, there are modifications to most of the moves. I have been starting with the regular moves (those I can do) and then fall back on the modification if I need to. I only have 3lb weights, which seem to work for me. I couldn't imagine going heavier, though I really want some lighter ones sometimes. Then I realize that while it hurts, I am ABLE to do it with the 3s, so well the point is... it's doable. And for only $9 at walmart, its worth the investment to try it out.

I just started tonight, and am wanting to lose about 100 lbs. I am active, and didn't have too much trouble with the exercises. It's hard work, and you have to push yourself, but you can do it to your own ability level. I paid less than 10 bucks for it, so it's worth it even if you do it only a few times. I say go for it!
