Anyone else dealing with this? I have for 25 years, but it (phlebotomies) seem to impact me more, probably because I am older...

    It runs in my family and I need to get tested again this year, but so far it has not manifested itself. As I understand it, it will more often start effecting a person after middle age.

    I do have Schamberg's disease which is also an iron related issue, but in this case the iron leaks out of my veins into my skin and makes my legs look rusty.

    There is a genetic test that you can take that will say if you have it or not and/ or carry the gene. Neither of my kids have it but both carry the gene.
