Calorie intake settings based on activity

Okay. So. I work out typically 6 times a week for at least 45 minutes a session of heavy cardio and weights, sometimes even a few weeks of 7 days of exercise. However, I have a desk job so I'm sitting for those 37.5 hours..

In regards to following through with the 'guided' calories amounts given from the MFP settings, would I classify myself as lightly active or active? I'm confused as to how I should figure out my daily calorie intake.

Any recommendations?

That's very similar to me. I am using moderately active and it's working well for me so far.

You could enter sendentary, then log your exercise and eat back the extra calories. Or put in lightly active and don't eat back your exercise calories. Even though your workouts seem pretty intense, if you sit the rest of the day I wouldn't think that qualifies as "active".

you are still sedentary because you don't work in a factory or something like that. It's what you are doing 8-9 hours per day that this setting comes from, not the fact that you workout daily.

I would go with lightly active so as to avoid over-estimating exercise. Then once you hit goal, if you are feeling hungry you can go over a little without worrying about it.

Edit to add: I put lightly active also so I do not log exercise....it just works better for me. I exercise about 3 times a week (1 hr per work out)and have a desk job. In addition, I also walk about 1-1.5 miles a day briskly (to catch public transportation to and from work), and have two part time jobs one as a waitress and one as a dance teacher....so instead of estimating burn from all of that daily stuff I just adjusted to lightly active which matches up to my TDEE-15% calculation.
