Discouraged

I am 53 years old. A T2 diabetic without a Thyroid. I have great control of both.

I stopped smoking in December 2012. I was experiencing vertigo and every time I lit up, I would get dizzy, then have a panic attack and end up in the ER. I was sick of it all. So after 2 weeks, I just threw them out and haven't wanted one since (even living with a smoker).

However, I did do what a lot of people do after they quit - I put some serious weight on my 5'3" frame.

No matter what I do, I can't seem to lose one frackin' pound. I used MFP a few months ago and did great keep within my calorie count and after a month -- nothing. Not one pound was gone, not one inch was gone.

I'm discouraged like you wouldn't believe. I cry because it won't come off.

One more note: I have to be very very careful about exercising because I will crash easily - so if I am below a certain reading I don't exercise.

I don't wish this had happened to anyone else, but if it did -- help!

Maybe try giving it some more time. I know a month with no progress is disheartening and discouraging, but this is a new lifestyle, and you need to give you body time to get used to it. Congrats on quitting cigarettes, that is a great start! Just make sure to keep taking care of yourself, and incorporating exercise whenever possible. It may take some time, but you can do it!
