I've begun eating paleo and am seeing it as a lifestyle change, not a diet. I've done it in the past and have felt amazing doing so, but fell off the bandwagon due to constant traveling for work. This time I'm back on for good!!
I am fully adapting and committing my life to being paleo and would love to have new friends who are also doing so!! So please feel free to add me and write in the message box that you are also paleo We can swap recipes (I've got a ton) or just help one another on our journey of being a healthier & better US! :)

Don't know what paleo is all about? Well feel free to add me as well! I'd love to tell you all about it. :)

Welcome!

I know a little bit about paleo but I'd love to know a bit more. I'm really kinda stuck at the moment and just need to get back in the groove.

I am doing Whole30? Does that count?

I have been thinking of doing Paleo but unsure about recipes. Been trying to do clean and lean and maybe bringing the Paleo diet into it. How are you getting on with it?

A really good website that helped me start was: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/10/04/the-beginners-guide-to-the-paleo-diet/

It's really detailed but easy to understand. I referred a lot to it when I first started out. And I saw we're MFP friends already!! Awesome. :) Feel free to send me messages or post on my wall. I also keep my diary open, its pretty simple now but I'm slowly going to be getting into more fun recipes as I go along. :)

If I'm thinking about the Whole30 correctly its where processed sugars, grains, dairy, legumes are eliminated? If so, its very close/basically close to paleo!
Do keep in mind the first 7-10 days of the Whole30 you may feel groggy, have headaches, or feel like you've got flu like symptoms.. that's completely normal! Your body is adjusting from sugar burner mode to fat burner mode.. and once it does, you will feel AMAZING! :) Just make sure you stick to it so your body can focus on doing the switch. :)

Please feel free to add me if you'd like!

I feel I'm doing quite well! I've already lost 20 pounds.. I also feel better, have better sleep, and better skin. Overall I feel great. There was a day where I had a "treat" that had processed sugar in it and my body did not like it at all. I felt sluggish and fatigued. It's pretty cool how your body responds once you treat it well! :)

Hi! I have been trying to re-follow follow the Primal Blueprint (Mark Sisson's book) for the past 3 weeks, and have no problem giving up legumes and beans, but I'm really struggling with the grains. I've cut WAY back on them, but usually every day I have something, and the weight isn't coming off.

FYI, I got down to 120 doing trying Primal last summer (same issues with grains). I'm 5'4". Just stepped onto the scale today and I'm 134! Since this past Augues, we moved cross country, lived in a few temporary housing situations until finally moving into our new house last week. Just joined a gym last month. Moral of the story - don't stop working out and don't stop eating well! Amazing how the pounds pack on quickly. The clothes I wore last summer, that were starting to get a little big on me, are now too tight! Augh!

I would love to join this group to help inspire people, learn recipes and get support myself!

I'm doing my second round of whole30. I did it and had great results, then slid back while I was doing some traveling...I felt awful right away. Today is my first day back.

I do paleo but then every night I also do beer and ice cream.

    Can we still be friends?

I know what you mean. I've had two separate days where I ate something that wasn't good for me.. and just felt awful! Your body gives you the signs it doesn't want junk in it! haha

I would also love to hear a paleo persons take on the Christina Wainner's TED lecture on it.

I have my own preferences on what works for me, but I try to be open minded. I did consider the whole paleo fad, but im not a crossfitter, and i choose to not give up beer. lol

  • paleoplan.com has amazing recipes! I used it when I did paleo (I did paleo with crossfit and lost 47 pounds in 6 months). I felt great doing it too, but couldn't eat a lot of the food i loved, couldn't eat out because I wasn't sure how things were prepared, etc. It was very hard to stay on it for a long amount of time (for me, anyways).

I do still eat their paleo pumpkin muffins - such a healthy breakfast alternative for me!

There's specific forums just for us. Might be good to post there instead.

I guess you could call me keto primal. It's a permanent lifestyle for me because of the amazing health improvements. The weight loss is just a very wonderful side effect of being so healthy. :flowerforyou:

Did paleo about 10 years ago and had great success. Now that I'm doing more strength training and really jumping in to heavy lifting, going to do more paleo. Would love to learn from you!

Is there!? I don't know much about the forums so that's great to know! Thanks for that. My goal is to continue it as a lifestyle.. so far I'm very happy with it and the results!

I just started doing Paleo a week ago and I'm loving the results! My cravings went away and I feel much better mentally and physically. I'm defiantly gonna stay on this lifestyle! :)
