So I've been stuck in the 170s for a few months now, slowly losing .2 here and .8 there. I recently upped my calories to 1400 a day, but still not seeing results. I work out about 60-80 mins 6 days a week, including weight training.

Starting Weight: 238
Current Weight: 173
Height: 5'6
Net Calories: 1400
BMR: 1536
TDEE: 2450 (this seems kinda high though)

I'm trying to get down to 138 by the end of the summer/beginning of fall. Any advice? I know I need to cut back on my carbs and sugar a bit...

In my experience, you should be trying to NET at least your BMR. I plateaued for about 6 weeks because i was eating under my BMR. The way it was explained to me was that your BMR is the minimum number of calories your body needs to perform normal functions, so eating less than that can stall weight loss after an extended period of time. It took a few weeks of eating at or above my BMR to start losing weight again, so don't expect it to happen after a few days, especially if you have been eating under for a few months. I would try adjusting and see what happens :) I'd bet that's the problem. Goodluck

**EDIT** I just used Scooby's calorie calculator (only one i trust) to put in your stats and see what it recommends for you to eat.
    TDEE: 1901
    BMR:1584
Recommended calorie intake for weight loss (15% cut): 1616

Just remember to recalculate your numbers every 5 pounds lost! :) Just keep it at "sedentary" for activity level then add your calories burned on here and try to eat back enough calories to net your BMR (1584). And a 15% cut is what i would recommend for your stats, so change it to 15 instead of the automatic 20% it has on there. Here's the link : http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
