Week of May 6th - Calorie Intake Challenge

So I recently joined a weekly fitness minutes challenge here and it's been such a motivator. I FINALLY managed to keep my exercise commitments. I really need the same kind of accountability for my calorie intake. Starting on Monday, each week we can set a personal weekly calorie goal and hold ourselves publicly accountable by posting our stats. I've set my 1st week's goal for 12,600 calories (average 1,800 a day). Anyone else in? :flowerforyou:

I'm in! I have been struggling badly with not only sticking to my goals but even tracking them so here goes. I've also decided to go crazy this week and try 5:2, to see if its any easier to meet my weekly goal if i have more freedom on 5 days and only suffer on two :P

Hi, keeta041! I'm envious of you being able to stay under 1,200. I haven't been able to be that dedicated. But at my weight I need to!
Vestral, I read a little bit about that 5:2 diet. I hope it works for you! It's something I might be interested in trying it once I get better control of my portions.0 -
Hi, it really isn't so bad plus working out helps to earn the extra calories if you need to use them. I Used weight watchers to lose 50lbs and I think that helped me to stick witht he lower calorie intake. I also did the 500 per day cal diet which was a huge disaster becasue that is just not realistic.

Eek, I'm going to go over my goal if I don't reign in the calories on the weekend. The plan is to avoid doing grocery shopping until Monday (which will force me to eat more vegetables) and to plan my restaurant meals ahead of time. I seriously could do without Mother's Day. Not because I don't appreciate my mom and MIL, but all the celebrating with food makes it harder to stay on track with calories. Oh well, it's got to get easier with time, right?

Pre-planned my food out for tomorrow and it looks like I'll be 153 calories over goal this week. While it looks like I won't make my goal this week, it is still such a motivator to have to post my daily calorie counts. Gets me looking at my food diary and thinking about what needs to be modified.

Ended up over by 459 calories for the week. Needs improvement and I'm going to work on that. How does everyone feel about starting a new thread every week? Or do you want to keep the same thread for the entire month? Just trying to make it as easy as possible for us to find the thread. It really gets busy on this forum!
