Do you allow yourself maintenance days during the week? Sometimes I'm too tired to exercise and besides in the country where I live, it's a 110-115 F. Is one a week ok?

For me it depends on how heavy i lift. I recovery days are a necessity because your body does need to rest. One or even two days is good and you can break them up however you like.

are you referring to lifting, cardio or both? i think it is fine and helpful to take a day off from your set routine, but still get some "non exercise" movement in.

Work out when you can, rest when you want to. Life is a balence. Just stay active and do your best to progress. Over time you will reach your goals.

I do. I used to do that at weekends. I do not work out at weekends ever, they are my days off from everything including exercises. Lately I do not increase cals tho, after I started to diet again, but I started to do cheat days like once a week where I go like 1k cals above my maintenance, still clean food tho most of these days, carbs. I guess they are called refeeds. They are supposed to reset your metabolism and hormone levels after long dieting so you do not plato out. I don't know much about that, I just do them for mental aspect. It feels good to ate a ton of food once in a while. :D

i walk on my rest days. partially because i wake up at 515am on my exercise days (6 days a week). so as a force of habit, i'm already awake in the morning. dont do any hardcore exercise that day (im doing insanity now), but just brisk walking for about 30-40 mins. i think that helps with recovery.

I started a new regime last week: No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat on alternate days.

Last week I could get in 4 workouts on the whole, with three rest days. I did end up working out on one of them, but on the others I just ate at maintenance and did no exercise, though my original plan was to atleast get in a pilates workout.

This week I already took off on Monday and ate my TDEE. That's like a rest day after just two days of workout. Is that going to impact progress?

Whoa, I wish I could wake up at 5:15 am too. Being an insomniac night owl sucks.
