Why the 1 lb weight gain after hard runs?

Everytime I go for a longer run or run harder the scale is up 1 lb the next day. Why is this? I do interval running of about 2 minute sprints and 30 second walking. I just don't understand why the freaking scale goes up! Anybody know this?

It's water weight..when you do a strenuous workout, the muscles hang on to water to help repair them. It'll go in a day or two. Better to weigh in the day after a rest day.0

it is likely you are building muscle
personal I wouldn't weight myself too often
once a week is good
anyone can add me0 -
My guess is fluid retention. I get swollen ankles sometimes after I run.0

Thanks! That's what I figured, but wasn't sure. I have gotten into the habit of weighing way too often!0
