Weight loss with no excuses?

Hi all,

I am new to using MFP and have only been using it a couple of days. I have been successful using another diary program in the past and truly believe in it as a great tool, especially with a strong support group. I have a committed goal to lose 40lbs in 4 months.

I am looking for some friends that are active here, are accountable, and will help me be the same.

You see, I am a strong believer that my choices have gotten me to this weight, and my choices have kept me here. Time for change! I would love some friends that recognize their weaknesses, but also realize when they step off the wagon towards them in excess. No excuses, just taking responsibility.

My weaknesses: wine, cucumber vodka, cheese, carbs, and cookies. Oh yeah and TV, the Internet, and just being LAZY.

As a training pastry chef, my weaknesses are Belgian chocolate, cream, fresh bread, more chocolate, fresh cakes and pastries made by moi... I am trying to get used to just smelling them but always give up by Wednesday! It's hard when these things are everywhere I turn... Oh look fresh donuts :) I am also extremely lazy to boot. Gah.

Sounds like the support system I need! I love food--especially wine, chocolate, and ice cream. I am not motivated to exercise but know I need to get moving. I have my daughter's wedding in September and really want to lose 20 pounds!

    count me in!
  • I'm new to this site too and have also used another online diet site. My 'diet buddy' was there with me all the way and I reached my goal weight. Having put it all back on again, plus a few lbs, I'm here and ready to start again. It'd be great to have the support of other people so feel free to add me. I've been there and done it so I like to think I know what I'm doing, I just need help to stay on track and to find the willpower to keep going. I'm so upset with myself for undoing all my hard work. As you'll see from my profile, my tip to everyone is exercise, exercise, exercise - it can really make all the difference.

Hi there! I like your candid honesty, that will help you a lot along this health journey. I log-in a few times a day and love inter-acting with my MFP friends, as you can see on my profile. Feel free to add me!
