I just started with MFP yesterday, When I enter all my info it tells me to have 1200 calories everyday. But I am breastfeeding on demand and am not exactly sure how many calories I am suppose to add on. If you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I am still breastfeeding my daughter who is 11 months! They SAY you burn 500 calories breastfeeding, but I think that all depends. I generally would eat when I was hungry and drink A LOT. I don't know how much you weigh or your activity level but I would start with around 1500 calories, then slowly reduce it while watching your supply. I eat about 1200 calories, but only breastfeed twice a day now. Just drink tons of water! GL!0

Yes, 500 calories if you are exclusively breastfeeding. 250 if your little one is eating solids also. You don't want to drop your supply by dropping your calories significantly0
