ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? How is this possible. 3rd shift is the most exciting time of the day.0

I wouldn't reccomend sleeping on the job, they tend to frown on that.0

I work overnights. I hate it. I have done it for 3 months. Its hard to schedule meals, work out, everything. I am on such an odd schedule I wake up at noon and people are like "you sleep all the time!" No, 8am to noon is only 4 hours you wankers!
Anyway /endrant! I get bored and come here, I did post in the official night shift thread but sometimes it doesn't have anyone posting. I am hoping in 3 weeks to be on days! Back to a normal schedule and with a almost four month old who is awake all day and asleep all night it will be epic. I will sleep again!0 -
we rotate evry two weeks.this is my week to open early.12 hr shifts ..punched in at 1 am get off at 1pm then be in bed by 5 pm to get up again at 11:30 am0

We go through a shift bidding process every 6 months. It's all done by seniority. I've got 5 years in, a prime set of choices and I CHOSE to come back to the graveyard. I sleep from 8-3...not too bad. I'm getting used to the eating schedule again. But, somedays I still wonder what the hell is wrong with me.0

I like my nights home with the family, sleeping at night is also enjoyable. I guess I am just built that way.0

true, I'm on night shift too and it really sucks. Metabolism changes, so it's hard to watch out the diet.0 -
I usually watch movies on amazon
but I have to agree with nicole on the whole metabolism effect
maybe its just me I don't have anything to back it up but I feel it...

When I have a few days off I can tell the difference in my body. It changes my whole physical being, after doing an overnight I have no energy, even if I sleep, its weird.0
-
yup!!! hate 3rd shift-been on it for a little over 3 years now and hate how it has affected me physically and mentally0
-
You couldn't pay enough to work dayshift. I've always been a night owl, though.0
-
I've been working overnights for 10 years. I've always been a nightowl, I'm used to it.0

I use to be a night owl as a teen/young adult. I don't enjoy it anymore, I would rather be home with my daughter and my SO.0
