I want to eat 3,000 calories a day

I like to eat, and doing 2,000 calories a day is just not cool.
How much muscle do I have to gain in order to justify eating 3,000 calories a day?
I'm currently at 183 lbs and about 22% bodyfat.
Would it make sense to just keep bulking till I reach a 3,000 calorie day maintenance level?

How long will it take? I already have a lot of muscle.0 -
It doesn't matter. If you add more muscle you will be hungry, if you eat the 3000 calories you will feel the same way you do now.
To answer your question though if you're maintining your weight at 2,000 calories with:
142.74lbs 78% LBM
40.26lbs 22% body fat
total weight = 183lbs
You will need to add 97.18lbs of muscle to your frame. You will weigh 280.18lbs. Not going to happen. To give you a rough estimate you weigh about 200lbs, you consume about 1000 calories for about every 100lbs you weigh. So roughly about 2000 calories for about 200 pounds. | did the calculations which is obviously more accurate, and you need to add 97.18lbs

, Easier way is simply ride a bicycle 3 hours every single day. This will burn about 1000 calories so you can eat more.0

Are you losing at 2000 calories or maintaining at 2000 calories?0

Are you losing at 2000 calories or maintaining at 2000 calories?
I'm not sure, I can't really count calories accurately cause I don't eat packaged food.
I just eat food that my mom cooks for me.0 -

Gain another 150 pounds and then come back here and try to lose the weight again. Your TDEE will probably be over 3000. There you go!0 -
When I first started losing I was eating 1500 cals a day (weight 300 lbs). The more I lost the more I upped my cals. As of right now I'm eating 3,000 a day (sometimes more, usually on Saturdays) and I have been doing so since Jan 1st and I have lost 8 pounds since then. My current weight is 197 and it looks like I'm setting myself up for a maintenance intake of around 3500-3750 when i reach my goal weight of 185. Which sounds pretty desirable to me
I have a desk job. Lift heavy 2-3 days a week and do cardio 4-5 days a week. i usually have 2 rest days, but sometimes it's 3 sometimes it will only be 1 depending on how my week pans out.0 -
You people answering this need to get out a bit more often.
OP, try some beefcake 3000, it won't make you gain, I promise.0 -
Follow your dreams, you can achieve your goals, beefcake.0

If you wanna gain weight also drink a gallon of milk a day. That will certainly beef you up....0

How old are you? I'm thinking you are quite a bit younger than the 41 that your profile says. If you actually ARE 41 and your mom is still cooking your meals for you, then you have a whole lot more problems than weight and diet.
I call troll or 16. Or both.0 -
... or old-school Italian. Some of those guys live off their mother's cooking until they get a wife to cook for them.
BTW, OP, how do you know you're eating anywhere near 2000 Cals if you don't count?0 -
