Which is a friggin miracle... perhaps the best job arsene wenger has done. But it's been a while since Arsenal has been any real threat to win any of the big trophies.

Before the exodus, I don't know how your lot didn't win the league at least once or twice more

Gunners need to spend some $ on the right players. Better defense and some depth in midfield. Please Arsene spend $ on accomplished players not 14 yr olds.

But hats off to SAF he's done a great job and had a fantastic career. So who is his replacement Moyes, Klop, Mourinho, Roy Keane ???

Whatever! He is who he is because David Beckham decided to play for him.

You can't help but wonder how they'll fare without him in charge....they've been at the top for so long but will they do as well without him giving them a boot up the ar$e??? As for my team...well we'll just be happy staying in the Premier league....we're above our biggest rival and hopefully will stay there

No real mental toughness and a lack of leadership on the field... They always lack the intangibles that guys like Rooney bring.

There is definitely some truth to that!

Wow. I didn't expect to see his name mentioned here. I was a massive Man. Utd fan as a kid. He's a legend. This is his second retirement announcement. I think he deserves it. :)

    Or a lot.

Yes, good luck to him. He has definitely been a consistently great manager. Will be interesting to see how things play out with ManU over the next couple years.

I don't even follow football I love Rugby League, I just have admiration for the mans legacy. His record speaks for itself, If I had to choose a team it would be my city, newly promoted to the Premier League Hull City, C.O.Y.H

Whoever takes over from him has got some big shoes to fill. Wish him all the best!!

I haven't been able to follow a lot of Rugby as it is never on in the states; however, from what I have seen I love.
Also, a huge fan of Chris Ashton. So you not a huge fan of Rugby Union I take it?
Seems like I everyone I know either likes Rugby League or Union, not the both of them? :)

Fingers crossed for that! And maybe some silverware over the next couple of seasons would be handy too lol

But hats off to Sir Alex. For him to make Man Utd one of the best football teams in the world is a great achievement. As one poster mentioned - whoever replaces him have some very big shoes to fill

Im not a fan of union pal, but I did play against Chris Ashton throughout my teenage years (he played for the rival school to mine in the national leagues) very good player. I'm pleased to see Rugby Leagues development in the states, I was hoping to play, I was shortlisted for Jacksonville a year or so back but due to work and personal commitments I had to leave it be, but I see even LA have a team now, that's exciting :D
