Introduction/Motivation

Hello all! My name is Brandi. I've been using MFP off and on for awhile now. I'll keep track for a week or so, then fall off the bandwagon. I didn't think it would be this difficult to stick with but it is. Currently, I weigh 215 and I am 5'3''. I do have a slightly larger frame so getting down to 110 wouldn't work for me. My goal is to be 150 lbs. How do all of you stay motivated?

Hi, I motivate myself because I have a family and I have chronic health problems. So being healthy for as long as possible is great motivation. Plus, I fell better when I am stronger and fitter
Good luck!0 -
I used to be the same, but id log in every day for a month or so, but then fall off for 2 or 3 months then back on. Posting on the forums and making friends on here helped a lot! (My irl friends are hardly ever on) and then I put a couple mirrors in my apartment. I get dressed in front of a mirror and have one I walk by a lot and see myself so its like a reminder to keep going. If that makes sense? Hope that helps! Good luck0

Make short and long term goals. That always helps me and don't forget to reward yourself. I started running around 3 years ago and have lost around 30 lbs. I really want to lose around 20 more to get down to where I feel good about myself. Got there once, but had an injury and wasn't able to workout so put some weight back on. When I started working out I couldn't even walk one lap around the track, but now I am running 16 mile hike/runs! I am not the fastest, but finishing! I want to be healthy for myself and my family...that's number one. I want to live a long life and be happy...one way to do that is taking care of myself by eating right and exercising. It's tough sometimes, but you have to keep pressing forward! Don't give up...keep going!0

I filled my wall with pictures of women I admire. Nice, fit, healthy women. I also set many many goals this year and check them every day! For example... my first goal is June 27, I'm going to a wedding in my boyfriends home town out of state. I'll be meeting all his old friends and his parents! I have to look good! Next, August 24... a white water rafting trip!! and After that... I'm going to be an amazing snow boarder when the snow comes back. You just have to REALLY WANT IT! It just feels so much better with less weight. Everything they say about feeling better is true. You feel like a different person. I'm 46 pounds lighter and a completely different Ashleigh, all in good ways. Add people who have determination and like goals as yourself to keep you going! You'll feel guilty if you see them doing great and you choose to sit on the couch instead...0
