Why I am so hungry today?

I started out here a little over a week ago (starting weight 226) and put in my information and chose that I wanted to lose 2 lbs a week. MFP gave me a number of calories that I could have per day as I am sure you all know as well. My calorie allowance is 1200. I have been fitting more activity in my life like walking and started Tae Bo last night. I've done fairly well on the 1200 calories. Not super hungry really on any day and have been snacking on carrots or edamame in between meals when I feel a little hungry. Well today I was doing the same but I just seem to be non-stop hungry today. I eat in small portions to see if I can satisfy my hunger and then wait to see if I need to eat more.

But today I just can't get past this hunger and it is really getting to me. I went for a small walk today and did some Tae Bo again this morning. Do you think my metabolism is getting better and maybe it's my body's way of telling me I need more if I am going to keep up with my routine?

And if it helps, I have lost a lot of weight in the last two weeks- 9 pounds actually and a dress size. I wasn't trying to lose that fast but I just did while following the 1200 calories and while increasing my physical activity.

And I just realized my title is worded incorrectly lol. Sorry.

Are you logging your exercise and eating back your exercise calories? You probably need to eat more than 1200 total. Healthy fats and protein will help you feel full longer than carbs will.

That's probably it. I thought I was just suppose to stick close to the 1200 no matter what. I'm new to this stuff...
  • I'd die on 1200 calories. that is all.

Eat food that fill your tummy more and stay within your goal calories. Seems what you are eating isnt filling enough.

I am at the point where I can tell when my body needs food, so I eat when I am hungry. I am also diabetic so I have small meals frequently throughout the day.My first couple of weeks I was hungry but now I seem to b eating enough to sustain my body in between meals.1200 cals seem like too little to me, i'm eating about 1600-1800. u may need to tweak that a little. I not for or against eating back my exercise cals, but if u are hungry u def need to eat back
